How did you come to ALTEN? In which position did you start?
At that time, I actively applied in the traditional way and, after successfully going through the application process, started directly in the position of Head of Recruiting.
Why did you decide to join ALTEN?
I have always found the field of recruiting exciting. I was particularly attracted by the fact that ALTEN is so international, that I was able to build my own team and that I could and still can play an active role in shaping it.
When you think back to your first week at work. What did you experience here?
The first week was pretty overwhelming. There was so much information all at once that you had to process first. But the warm welcome and the great support from all my colleagues and superiors made it a lot easier for me to get started.
What was your first task or project and how were you supported?
My first task was to get to know my new team. I received support from my supervisor at the time. My first real project was to set up a team leader structure, i.e. a team leader was implemented at each location.
What projects are you working on today and what are your tasks?
Today, I’m in charge of technical recruiting throughout Germany, i.e. recruiting engineers.
What is the goal of your projects? What challenges do you face?
The goal is to continue to build and develop the recruiting team in order to further increase the number of consultant hires.
What does a typical working day look like for you?
There is no such thing as a typical working day for me, but that’s the great thing about ALTEN. You never get bored! As soon as I open my e-mail box in the morning with my cup of coffee, there are already e-mails to process. The good thing about it is also the constant collaboration with different departments, as I am also the interface to the recruiting of other departments.
What tasks do you enjoy most about your job – and why?
What I enjoy most about my job is leading, developing and supporting employees. What’s most important to me is that they feel comfortable in the company, so that I can pass on my knowledge and experience. I also enjoy the strategic and entrepreneurial thinking that is often required of me.
What has been your career at ALTEN?
My area of responsibility has grown from 10-12 to over 30 employees nationwide.
What kind of support do you receive from your supervisor at ALTEN? How does he accompany your projects? To what extent do you coordinate your further development with him?
Despite close daily coordination on various topics, I still have the freedom to make my own decisions and experiences. In order to develop myself further, I constantly deal with new topics and challenges, such as intensifying active sourcing or social media.
Why do you recommend joining a development service provider?
ALTEN offers the opportunity to gain insight into various areas. In addition to good opportunities for further development, you can build up your technical know-how through various projects and you get the chance to work proactively on interesting projects.

As already mentioned, I really appreciate being able to work on varied topics, which means that no two days and weeks look the same to me. The focus on development and the freedom to organize my work myself also make ALTEN a good employer.

ALTEN is characterized above all by great colleagues, a close-knit team and an openness to change.
What has been your personal highlight at ALTEN so far?
It’s hard to say. For me, there is not just one highlight, but many exciting moments that I have experienced at ALTEN over the years, without highlighting one in particular.

What is characteristic of you in your private life? What are your hobbies & interests?
In my freedom I prefer to spend time with my family or do sports – especially tennis.
