ALTEN at Nürnberg Digital Festival 2026: Making Innovations Accessible
The Nürnberg Digital Festival is one of Germany’s most important events for digital transformation and innovation. For ALTEN, participating in 2026 was a unique opportunity to introduce modern software development and agile methods to a broad audience in a way that not only informs but also inspires.
Two events took place at ALTEN’s Nuremberg offices, showcasing how complex topics can be made understandable through interactive formats. Both presentations generated significant interest and attracted a diverse audience. The lively discussions and positive feedback from participants highlighted the success of these formats.
Software Development with Factory Simulation: Mastering Complexity Playfully
On 30 June, 2026, ALTEN demonstrated how software development concepts can be made tangible using factory simulation. Inspired by games like Satisfactory, participants saw firsthand how architecture, modularization, and scalability work in a simulated production environment.

“Factory simulation games visualize complex software development principles so intuitively that architectural and scaling issues become both ‘visible’ and experiential in a playful way.”
Utz Winter, Senior Specialist, ALTEN Germany
Instead of abstract diagrams, participants experienced how “spaghetti architectures”, clean modularization, and automated processes function in a factory, and the parallels it draws with software development.
Prototyping: Fast, Lean, and Intelligent Product Development
On 1 July, 2026, the focus was on prototyping, demonstrating how companies can efficiently validate and refine product ideas through rapid, iterative cycles.
“A good prototype focuses on the essential components of a product idea. In classical development, market readiness and deliverability are central from the start, whereas prototyping deliberately ignores these aspects.”
Martin Kainbacher, Senior Consultant, ALTEN Germany

Participants particularly appreciated the practical insights and the emphasis that every prototyping outcome—even discarding an idea—holds value.
ALTEN: Bridging Theory and Practice
The Nürnberg Digital Festival 2026 was more than just an event for ALTEN: it was an opportunity to make innovations accessible. The two presentations demonstrated how ALTEN uses creative formats to make complex topics understandable, whether through playful factory simulations or hands-on prototyping approaches.
ALTEN not only connects technological expertise with practical application but also inspires the digital future.
