Martin, tell us about yourself.
I’m Martin, 33, and in my free time I like to sing soprano, play the drums, and practice martial arts. Gaming is also one of my hobbies.
What three words best describe you?
Inquisitive, enthusiastic, creative
What does your typical workday look like?
In the morning, I check in with our customers to see what’s new, and I do the same with the company. I keep myself up to date, take care of planning for customers, talk to employees, develop new features, and advise customers on software developments.
What was your best project?
We developed a platform for collaboration between doctors. It was a pure cloud project in the medical industry – I had no previous experience in either area.
What was your biggest challenge?
Not professionally? Becoming a father.
Professionally? Taking over the department and with it responsibility for employees.
What is your personal highlight at ALTEN?
Every month, we have Office Friday. Colleagues get together, listen to presentations, and discuss various topics. We also attended Developer Week, a conference for the software industry. There, you can also attend presentations and network on software topics.
The working conditions are fair and employee-oriented, there is a personal level, and communication is quick and easy because we don’t have any unnecessary bureaucracy.
What would you say to new colleagues?
Be open and direct, say what you like and what bothers you – that’s the only way to address issues.
What motivates you?
On the one hand, of course, getting a monthly salary, but on the other hand, being able to make a difference and my interest in technology.
Which three words best describe the management style?
Friendly, direct, uncomplicated
What are the training opportunities like?
I’m satisfied. This year, I attended an external workshop on angular testing. Internal training courses are also offered, and Office Friday and the communities provide additional knowledge input. The department is also always open to new ideas.
