How would others describe you?
Open, helpful, committed
What was your coolest project with us?
We worked on the development of electronic components for electric vehicles. My role at the time was cluster leader for BTV support. My team was actively involved in development support, and we assisted the automotive manufacturer’s component managers in many interesting areas. There were many interfaces and links to consider.
What was your biggest challenge?
I was responsible for ensuring that the customer received optimal support until the very end of a project that was coming to an end, but our staff also had to be quickly and efficiently rescheduled, while staying within budget and continuing to guarantee delivery quality.
What makes ALTEN an attractive employer?
Our team is young, and we have many different projects with different topics and approaches. You also can receive recognition for what you do and to develop yourself further, as ALTEN offers many opportunities for advancement. When problems are identified, solutions are implemented quickly, which is possible thanks to our short communication channels and open teams.
What does a typical working day look like to you?
I am currently involved in various projects. My job is to regularly check KPIs and plan and optimize my team’s current and future workload. In general, I am constantly working on optimizations, coordinating with the customer, and organizing when and how much staff is needed.
It’s important for me to know what the customer wants, and I sometimes must think outside the box to find the right solutions.
I must discuss which organizational structures are relevant and try to implement a uniform basis and uniform documents for our company in order to speed up processes. In addition, a training academy is currently being launched, for which I am preparing training courses.
As a project manager, I also settle accounts for my projects at the end of each month.
What advice would you give to new colleagues?
If you have any questions, ask them. Be open about what you don’t know – if things are unclear, say so and you will be helped. If you want to advance your career, communicate your successes.
What is the management style like?
I would describe the management style as reserved. By that I mean that we are given freedom and opportunities. You have the chance to try things out and learn from your mistakes. I personally like that because I have learned from my mistakes and enjoy optimizing things.
