Quality Manager
What does a Quality Manager do?
A quality manager ensures quality in the different phases of the product life cycle. This ranges from the development and production processes through to the quality-related support of spare parts in the after sales area. He is responsible for quality planning, control and monitoring through the use of quality tools and methods that are standardised in the sector. He plans measures to identify and prevent errors and defects, and provides solutions for quality improvement and process optimisation. To that end, he performs internal audits and carries out process and product inspections. During the development phase for products, he is the first point of contact for any quality-related queries from the customer and is responsible for communication in the area of quality. Supplier management, in particular the assessment, support and development of suppliers, is a further possible responsibility for a quality manager.
