What does a Scrum Master do?

The Scrum Master is responsible for promoting and supporting Scrum in accordance with the Scrum Guide. He does this by helping all participants understand the Scrum theory, practices, rules and values. As the Servant Leader, he supports and mediates between the various roles and endeavours to constantly optimise the processes, in addition to deriving the maximum benefit. He encourages cooperation and protects the team against unauthorised interference during a sprint. He also helps with eliminating obstacles that can come up during the work and might impede the team or individual team members from carrying out their functions. He plays various roles in daily work. He functions as a teacher, coach, mediator and facilitator, as well as a moderator at meetings.
